Gift Certificate promotion at customer registration

Hi,

I have the following issue:

When a customer get registered many e-mails are sent to him/her. The Welcome e-mail is including a Gift certificate (CG) of $15.00 dollars value and a 10% Discount Cupon.

Actually we do not want to offer the $15.00. Then looking the GC information in the Welcome e-mail I can see that this information, including the $15.00, is typed in it. Meanwhile the process is also generating a Redemption Code.

So, I do not understand how a Redemption Code is generated when the information of the $15.00 GC is explicitly typed in the Welcome e-mail.

I want to eliminate that information from the Welcome e-mail but first I need to know how can I tell the shooping Cart not to generate the Redemption Code.

Turn off the Gift Certificate and Coupon modules in the Admin> Modules> Order Totals
