Default Text attribute set to required but...

I set up a text attribute and makred it 'required.' I can still add it to cart without typing anything in. I found this thread, but there was no solution.

I swithched to the classic template, and the same thing happens. I set it to Default and Display Only also.

Hi - this sounds really basic, but it's a mistake I made in setting up attributes....

I have the same attribute assigned to more than one product, but the "Required" flag is set individually by product. I was changing the setting for the attribute assigned to one product, but then inadvertently testing it with another product in my store. Once I made sure I that I tested the same product I had just edited, it worked fine.

Computers tend to do what you tell them to do, not necessarily what you want them to do.

It's set up like it should be... for each product. Thanks for the tip though.

    Here goes.

Column Layout Grid for Product Listing
    Priority Order Handling
    Shopping Cart Free-Shipping-Qualifier Sidebox Template
    paypal_sessions_viewer_2.0
    CAPTCHA w/ TTF
    GoogleSiteMapAdmin
    simple google analytics
    Checkout without Account
    Sales Report 1.04

Here's an SQL edit I made so that I can edit an attribute value in the dB directly:
In orders_products_attributes table, edit the field products_options_values and change from BLOB to TEXT

I thought above could've been it, so I changed it back to BLOB, but it made no difference.

Can you tell me what file is responsible for doing the checking? I can try uploading a clean copy of it.

    TIA!
