i seen the mod in the downloads section, but do you have to pay for a 3rd party service to send a text via the internet??

If you live in North America, you get an email address you can send SMS messages to along with your phone. Some links are provided in the help.

If you live outside North America, then yes, you need an SMS gateway you have to pay for.

thats what i was thinking, im the uk, shame i cant do this, unless someone knows a free gateway

Can you use Twitter? At some point I'm going to write an interface that lets you Tweet on a sale. But you still need the ability to receive SMS messages on your mobile device, and that's tariffed differently in different parts of the world.

You might Google around or ask your service provider for a recommendation of a reasonable SMS service.
