Additional Shipping Costs

Does anybody have a workaround for this?

I am using Zone Rates and offer free shipping when the total is above 250. However there are some special products that we do want to chage an additional shipping cost outside of this on. Is there a way to do this as opposed to changing the products actual price?

Are you able to use the products_weight field to enter the extra charge for those products?

When one of these products with the extra charge are in the order, does it mean that the order is never free shipping based on over $250.00?

What identifies these Products from other Products? Note: if the additional shipping can be added to the products_weight then that could be used to indicate that these products are in the cart ...

not quite sure that i follow there...


what we are hoping for is that all* orders that are over 250 in total have free shipping

*nb: if the order happens to have an item with "additional shipping" then this would be added on. eg total order of $300 which includes one item with $25 additional shipping, the the customer would be charged $25.

I would suggest you make the $25.00 additional shipping charge a required attribute and that way it will always show in the shopping cart and not be affected by other shipping promotions.

sorry i dont quite follow...would you be able to tell me how it should be set up. I am not real familiar with all of the attribute option. thank you
