Seo Urls

wondering if anyone can suggest a fix for these issues

Here are my issues:

I am rewriting and redirecting a ton of really nasty urls from the old site/server to the new. I am fairly decent in my rewriting skills, but the SEO URLs will not stop adding the query string to my new rewrites, and they are getting indexed with the query string. So for the moment, I am redirecting and still trying to rewrite them, and have the end resulting urls with the query string blocked in robots.txt. I would really like to know how to direct this without the query string attached.

Secondly, as a result of the SEO urls the index.html page is live, and thus duplicate for the domain url. I generally use the code below to redirect to the canonical version in web sites, however since index is in the rewrite list for the mod...It doesn't work. Please advise how I may either exclude index.html from rewriting and still rewrite the other urls containing "index". Or the proper working redirect for sending index.html to the canonical domain url.

Which mod are you using? I havent had good experience with seo url mods so far.

You have removed the cPath from the product URLs so linked products are not working properly. Clicking on a linked product causes the category to jump from the current category and into the products master category, this will confuse shoppers.

Go to New Products and you see a URL that looks like...
shop/products_new.html
...now go to page 2 then follow the link back to page 1, you now have...
shop/products_new.html?page=1&disp_order=6

That is two different URLs pointing to the same content.

Which mod are you using Bruce. I have checked the newer version of SEO on new zen install and it did not work. Can you explain about your mod.

Has anyone know any working module for this SEO stuff? I am currently interested in learning this stuff... something to learn before New Year eve :)
