New customer discount duplicate email address

Hi,
I think I know the answer to this question but just wanted to check.

I have a discount set up for new accounts so if I created an account with a certain email address and was sent the discount code but never used it, then deleted the account within the admin section and at a later date created an account with that same email address, should I have been sent the discount code again or does the system recognise that the discount code has already been sent to that address before?

Coupon redemption is tracked based on customer number, not on email address. The email address is recorded, but is not used for other than reporting.
The coupon will not automatically be made available again. You'll have to send it manually.
