Trying to check using Authorize.net causes error: 2013 Lost connection to MySQL server during query

If I check out using check as payment method, it works fine. But when I try using a credit card, I get the error. Based on the error text (below), it looks like the server did hear back from Authorize.net and the test credit card number was approved. What could be causing this? Please help!!! Here's the error report...

Host is Go Daddy. I'm using their Deluxe Linux hosting (shared).

GoDaddy continues to have problems with their servers and their communication to external resources. There have been an increased number of reports of such problems this week.

That error appears when Zen Cart has had to sit and wait for something to be done externally and has taken too long to come back with required information. You'll need to talk to your hosting company's tech support to get them to fix their communication delays ... ie: to-and-back-from authorize.net in this case.

Better yet, you might consider putting your business on a more reliable hosting platform with a hosting company who knows Zen Cart.
