Change logo, sales message, and successfull inatall notice

I need to remove the "Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zen Cart™ E-Commerce Solution.", change the "Sales Message Goes Here", and change the logo. I've followed the steps in the faq, but nothing seems to work. I'm using the default template, and I've manually modified the files mentioned in the faq (the originals) and copied them to various locations, but nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong?

And why, oh why are these things not simply stored in the database like all other CMS products I've ever tried to use?

Choose Tools ~ Developers Toolkit

The first heading is: Look-up CONSTANT or Language File defines

Enter the keyword that matches what you want to change and then click the search button on the right hand side of where you entered the keyword.

This will tell you where to find the line item.

The reason I posted in this forum is because the stuff I found in the FAQ did not seem to fix the problem. Yes, I found the specific FAQ items, but they did not work. Maybe it was just me...

This search seemed to work. It found a couple more files different from the ones in the FAQ. Oddly I had done a recursive grep for the same text and didn't find the text that time. I probably had a mistake in the grep search. Now I've changed the values, but I'm betting the text will be overwritten every time I upgrade. The path for the congratulations message was:

[webroot]/includes/languages/english/index.php

and the path for the sales message was:

[webroot]/includes/languages/english/classic/header.php

I'll check this against the FAQ if I have time later.

Addressed this, but the paths are correct. I'm not sure if they were updated recently or if I accidentally exited my text editor without saving the changes. I'll look into the logo later, and I'll probably readdress this when I do an upgrade for the next version and it overwrites my changes.
