Categories Display All Subcategories?

How do I show the categories sidebox with all the subcategories permanently open. At the moment the categories show only the top level category and current subcategories. Is it possible to have all categories and subcategories open and on display then just have the current category showing as bold?

For the "current category bold", tpl_categories.php assigns class tags to categories in the current category path:

.category-subs-parent

for a category with subs, and

.category-subs-selected

for a category without subs (which must be the active cat).
You can style both of those classes in your stylesheet to be bold or whatever you want.

Thanks for the information and replies. So far I have had no success getting the categories to be displayed as open categories instead of collapsed categories. The category_list_box plugin did not work for me.

Has anyone had better success?

There is another mod, Uncollapsed Categories Tree by fragfutter, that reportedly works well. It should be available from the author's site.

I didn't follow the original link before, and just noticed that it is not for the mod I expected. Expanded Category List by Clyde Jones is supposed to be reliable.
