i've installed a 1.3.7 also....NO PROBLEM!!!
Hi,
It is strange, although I generally use Linux as a os for my test server, both drbyte and I also test using XAMPP under windows.
We both have had no problems installing 1.3.8. Can you post what version of xampp you are using, and what version of windows (XP, VISTA, W2000)
We have seen others have problems with xampp, and would like to try and understand why.
Installing with php5 give that problem to me
switching to php4 is okay....the installlation gives no problem

I have uninstalled xampp now and installed the newest version of Xamp 1.6.4 with PHP Version 5.2.4.
Now I can install ZC 1.3.8 with no problem.... but have severall shops more on the server and at some of them (all 1.3.7) I can't login into the admin now.
Code:Fatal error: Call to a member function Execute() on a non-object in C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\xxx\xxx\includes\functions\sessions.php on line 61
rectification:
The shops with this error "Fatal Error in Sessions.php line 61" are zc 1.3.6 or lower and fixed it with http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...t=50534&page=3
All shops with 1.3.7 works and of course 1.3.8 also now
Thanks for the update Raimond.
Glad it's working well for you now!

I am having the same problem. I have the previous version running fine on the Godaddy server. I am doing a fresh install for a new website on a Godaddy server and am having this problem.
I uploaded the files again and it works now.
