    Default Product Disappeared from Admin Catalog

    I have a product which has 'disappeared' from the Admin Catalog, but is still showing and orderable on the live site.

    When I look in Categories / Products - Hand Dyed Fiber (subcategory) is lists "10 of 11" active, which is correct (11 products, 10 active, 1 inactive). When I go into Categories / Products - Hand Dyed Fiber > Silk (product list) it only shows 10 products (9 active, 1 inactive).

    How do I get the missing product back and/or delete it so that I can recreate it? My site is https://redstoneyarns.com

    Find it in the Catalog ...

    Note it's products_id ...

    Do a search on its name ... does it come up?

    If so, are you able to set a Master Category on it if you edit it?

    Browse the products_table in phpMyAdmin ...

    Find this products_id ...

    Is it missing a master_categories_id ...

    Do you have categories_id that this Product belongs to?

    I don't have the problem of products dissapearing, but I have found the Admin Catalog Search does not work very well.

    If I go to the main site for example and do a simple search for "1200" (an ID), the associated product shows up. But if I do it in admin catalog search, there are no results. I then have to spend time going through easy category and pages until I find the product. It is there, just doesn't show up in search results.

    I have yet to find a pattern, but some searches on the id (which is really zen-cart "model no", simply provides no search results.

    I have not been able to repeat the problem of not finding a products_model in a search in the Admin ...

    What version of Zen Cart are you using?

    Was this a clean install or an upgrade?

    How did you install? How did you upgrade?

    Linda, the very latest version. I have been using ZC for a long time, so it's an upgrade.

    As I stated, the search works fine on the customer site, but not in ADMIN.

    Just for giggles and grins ... could you PM me an URL and login to your Admin so I can actually see this issue?

    It does not make sense to me ...

    Also, have you any add-ons? Specifically ones that touch the Admin?

    You have missing master_categories_id from what I am seeing ...

    One of the products is in categories_id 2 I am not even able to bring that one up ...

    So looks like bad data ...

    If you do NOT use Linked Products then you can fix this in the Admin, when it is not running like a dog, in the Tools ... Store Manager ...
    Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID
    to be used for Linked Products and Pricing:
    You will then want to also run:
    Update ALL Products Price Sorter
    to be able to sort by displayed prices: Update
    I turned off the Category Counts in the Admin with the Configuration ... My Store ...
    Show Category Counts - Admin
    Show Category Counts in Admin?
    That speeds things up to an extent ...

    There are other things that might be able to be customized on your admin to speed things up further but I would have to sit down and get into your code and such to customize things beyond this ...

    Hi,
    I know this is an old forum, but I have a similar problem and need help.

    ZC: 1.3.9f
    SQL: 5

    I installed the free gift dangling carrot. I followed all the instructions and everything works except that my catalog is blank on the admin site.

    I just need some suggestions on which php files to check. I know the products are still active because I have had purchases. I believe there must be a code mishap somewhere that is just making the catalog not visible.

    Thank you for advice!!!
