Install says Curl not installed, but it is.

I'm getting the same errors regarding CURL.

And, the error is correct ... Your CURL won't let you connect via SSL:

Something wrong with the SSL Cert as well.

https://cacaocouture.com/ also gives errors.

This is a Server problem that the Hoster will need to fix.

It's exactly as the warning message states: Your server's CURL is not able to communicate to external servers. You'll have to have your hosting company troubleshoot their CURL configuration.

it's not a 1and1 hosting problem (for once) since I'm on surfspeedy now.

The last time I tried it I forgot to edit the configure.php files after moving the files to the public_html folder.

I'll try again sometime today. If it slows down enough. People keep buying things. haha. It's going to be a Very Merry Christmas!

That's very odd, since the CURL testing isn't based on files/paths on your server. What happens if you run the curltest.php script from the /extras/ folder?

By the way,

Don't let the Curl error stop you from trying to install. Set all the folders to the right permissions and fix any other errors that you can and you'll see that the update and install buttons become active.

This is what I did and I think it would have worked once copied to the main directory of my site. I was simply too tired to realize that I forgot to edit the paths in the configure.php files after moving the files.

I'm now going to Curl forums to see what the problem could be so that when I ask my host to check it out I can give them some reference links. Giving reference links will help the low level techs decide to boost your ticket to the higher level techs.

If I find the Curl links I'm looking for I'll post them in here.

DrByte's right, there must be some configuration with Curl that isn't allowing the connection via a subdirectory. And since I can make the connection by simply changing the url path to the main directory of the site, I'm able to confirm that the configuration of Curl is wacky in some way. Yes, wacky is a technical term.

What I was trying to say is that the "subdirectory" should have *no* effect one way or another. If you try to tell your tech folks that it's related to being in a certain subdirectory they'll likely put you at the bottom of the list.
