Improved Attributes Controller

Is there any particular reason why the Improved Attributes Controller wasn't incorporated into the core files on release of 1.3.8?

And perhaps more importantly, as I see there ARE changes to admin/attribute_controller.php, am I going to give myself problems by continuing to use the Improved Attributes Controller?

I did try merging the changes without success (because I STILL don't really understand this code stuff! )

Mainly because we don't usually make major features changes in a bugfix release & there are major attributes changes coming in 1.4.

Understood, but that's such a useful improvement and changes were made to the only file it affects anyway...ah well...

So how about the second question? Can I still safely use it? It certainly SEEMS to be doing the right things.
