Default Installing new phpmyadmin on my xampp?

In a previous post I said that I had received and "error 2003 -- Server not responding" when I entered example.com/phpmyadmin but have received no suggestions. I suspect that this is one of those obscure problems that requires more knowledge then I presently have.

XC is on my computer, my local server.

I had just started putting in categories and products and made a few changes to the main ZC screen. It would take little time to redo these tasks.

I am wondering if I can take another route. Can I overlay a new phpmyadm and be able to start a clean zencart database as mentioned on page 39 of the ZC manual but still have all of the other parts of xampp and zen cart work correctly?

How do Ii go about it?

Of course if you know how to fix error 2003 please let me know.

The problem appears to be that MySQL will not activate on the XAMP control panel although the other services are working. When trying to start MySQL received warning "Terminating worker thread 1. MySQL Started"

Went to run>cmd>sc start mysql and received the message
"The specified service does not exitst as in installed service."
Received same message with run>cmd>sc query mysql

Went to settings>administrative tools>services and the Xampp service was not started. Tried to start Xampp and was unsuccessful. Received error "Windows dould not start xampp service"

Went to xampp>services xammp restart.exe, among many lines there was one saying "No listening sockets available"

In summary I cannot start MySQL even though it was running fine.

Why not upgrading the whole package? XAMPP has new version pretty frequently to catch up with the new versions of php, mysql, apache, etc...
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

Upgrading at this point in time may just complicate matters. Rather stick with what I know and gt it right. The newest version doesn't have anything I need at the present time.

This problem was starting to become too complicated and since I had not made many changes to my Zen Cart Screen I decided to start all over. Howeve, what I did learn (about the 70th time in my life).
