does anyone has solutions on this yet?....
I'm running Zen-Cart v1.3.8a.
I have looked at the code that would require changes for this feature and have to agree with dhvrm, it is quite a bit of a hack to allow no group pricing on some categories while retaining it on others. The changes required in the core zen-code would create a custom version of zen-cart useful only to the individual who customized it, and would most certainly cause trouble with upgrades in the future.
My own requirement for this feature would be satisfied if I could restrict just one category from group pricing. Right now I am selling items at a discount that should not be discounted. It's my money, and I want it now!
I don't consider myself very knowledgeable about Zen-Cart programming, and would be interested to hear the Zen-Cart developers opinion on all of my conjecturing about this feature. Is there a way to do this cleanly? I am an experienced programmer, just not in php. Looking at the code I could not see an elegant way to make this work. But if there is a clean way to do this and I am given some hints as to the "correct" way to implement this feature I could probably figure it out. It's just another programming language, after all.
Count me in too - Group Pricing with restrictions would be great!
I'm interested in this as well!

I really need this for one of my stores. Would it be possible to restrict certain categories for Group Pricing and disable the Discount Coupon box for Group Pricing customers?? It makes no sense having a group discount and discount coupons at the same time.
Anyone??....

bump for a good cause. it would be nice to have this option so I can restrict my "sponsored" customers on going on a wild shopping spree for the stuff I cannot afford to give them that much discount.
ps those ones and zeros are more like black magic to most of us.
you guys write and I will supply all the coffe
I am in need of the same options. Wish there was a way to "flag" each item for "apply group discount" so that if not marked, the group discount would not be computed for that particular item.
Even selecting categories or sub-categories that would be exempt from group discounts would be most helpful.
