Please Help, Image Downloader Suggestions

I have 127k image urls from my supplier in an excel file. They cannot get me the actual images on a disc or via FTP. All they have given me are urls from their site, ie:

http://123ccompany/123abc.jpg

As you know, we cannot use outside urls for adding images via Easy Populate.

So, does anyone know of a program, where I can send this excel file and it can retrieve all 127k images in bulk. I can then upload them to my FTP. I googled this, and everything I have found won't work.

you could write a shell script that would wget the images right on to your server.

"Shell Script", I never even heard of one and wouldn't know where to start...Wikipedia?

A shell script is a tool that one would write in a unix command line language. you could take for instance the column of image locations and please them in an array and say (in the unix language) for each item in the array, download it.
I know that this is not very helpful but it give you a clue where to start.

I am kinda busy at the moment but I am sure some one on this forum would be able to take it form here.
