All
I am trying to upgrade from 1.3.0.2 to 1.3.8 and have gone through the upgrade process. I have a second version of my store in a subdirectory of my site that is linked to copy of my live database. I have been through the process of upgrading the copy of the DB to 1.3.8. However when I try and view the store in my new subdirectory I just get a blank page, no error message, nothing just a blank page. The HTML source shows only the following
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>
How can I get my browser to output some form of error message so I can at least start trying to work out why this is not working. At the moment I have nothing to go on at all!

IGNORE THIS IT WAS A CONFIGURE.PHP PROBLEM - i.e. I SET IT UP WRONG!

thats the error I keep getting when trying to enter admin

That would suggest that your /admin/includes/functions/general.php file is incomplete and needs to be re-uploaded.
