Default Exactly where do I find...

I am trying to change the "Congratulations! you have..." message.

I found the tutorial. It says "open the includes/languages/ENGLISH/index.php file and find the following code:"

I hunted for quite some time and the only place I found it was in Developers Tools.

It will not let me edit it. What am I doing wrong? Is the includes/languages/ENGLISH/index.php file located somewhere else too?

    Help!

The Developers Toolkit is merely a means of finding text/code.
You need to download the file referenced in the results to your pc, edit it in a good text/file editor like Notepad++ or CrimsonEditor, then upload it to your site.

OK. That helps but if that is a means of finding the text/code then what do I do with that information? Do I pull it up somehow and then download it or what?

The only text editor that I have is what ever is on my pc. I have not downloaded any. I have MS Office 2000 and the plain notepad. If they won't do are there any suggestions for a free one that is SIMPLE? My 54 year old brain cells are struggling enough.

    Thanks,

You will need to learn how to use an FTP program and a proper file editor in order to customize and maintain Zen Cart.

Good free ones are Filezilla (FTP) and Notepad++, both available from www.sourceforge.net.

DO NOT use MS Office or any word processing program - they will corrupt your PHP files. Notepad is sometimes safe to use but not always, and is painfully primitive in its capabilities.
And don't feel bad - my 51 year old brain cells got through it, so can you!

    Thanks.

I know how to use an FTP and I have downloaded the Notepad++.

When I was shopping around for an ecommerce solution the websites all paint it as being Sooooo Easy! I have been working on mine 3 weeks and have figured most of it out.

Of course, the really pretty templates are not for the shopping carts. They don't tell you that either!

I will play with making mine prettier later. First things first.

Apologies for appearing dim, but there are 2 downloads of notepad ++ available - binary and/or source. Which do I need to download please

Go to Cnet's site http://www.download.com and search the downloads section for php editor. Lots to choose from there.
