    Default the credit card you entered is not one that we accept

    I have just upgraded to 1.3.8 and am in the process of configuring the store to use PayPal Website Payments Pro. However whenever I enter CC details on the checkout page I get the following message:

    "We apologize for the inconvenience, but the credit card you entered is not one that we accept. Please use a different credit card or verify that the details you entered are correct, or contact the store owner for assistance."

    I know the card I am using is valid (because it is mine). What can be causing this?

    I must be even more stupid. Getting the same error and not sure why. What caused yours?

    Somewhere in the zencart admin you need to specify which credit cards the store accepts. Until you have done that zencart assumes you do not accept any, i.e. you (very sensibly) need to tell it which cards you accept so it can perform its validation on the CC inputs etc. I hope this helps.

    Admin> Configuration> Credit Cards
    Please do not PM for support issues: a private solution doesn't benefit the community.

    i think i must be stupid here too

    -i have selected the cards in config > credit cards, (visa, mastercard, maestro, solo)
    -I have setup all of the paypal settings for express checkout and payments pro
    -put it into sandbox mode on express settings and payments pro settings

    -entered checkout and put my card number in and i get the error which the original poster stated.

    any ideas?

    I'm using Paypal IPN - Website Payments Standard with PDT Token,
    Visa and Mastercards are set as accepted in ZenCart (already set)

    I'm getting "The credit card you entered cannot be used for this payment" having tried several cards.

    Strange thing is, I set up another site a few weeks ago and that worked ok when tested back then (not same card and haven't tried again now).

    Any ideas anyone?

    Since PayPal IPN does ALL the payment processing on the PayPal website (Zen Cart has nothing to do with credit card numbers when PayPal IPN is selected for payment), you'll have to ask PayPal why they're rejecting those card numbers.
