Default Another "This transaction is invalid." thread

Ok so I am trying to work with the Paypal Express checkout module. I have installed it along with the patch. But am getting the message "This transaction is invalid. Please return to the recipient's website to complete your transaction using their regular checkout flow." when clicking on the paypal link in the cart

    Cart 1.3.7 with paypal patch
    site - www.saltycritter.com/store

    Server info from zen
    CURL support enabled
    CURL Information libcurl/7.15.3 OpenSSL/0.9.7a zlib/1.2.1.2

Installed the curltest to check that

not sure if this is the proper SSL link for test?... if so I assume that is the problem.....maybe?

    www.ultimatehost.com

I found the link about godaddy and some sites needing a proxy for curl so was sending a email to a friend of mine that works at the host to see if I needed that maybe?

Well, the GoDaddy proxy doesn't seem to work any better.

It seems all attempts to do outbound communications over SSL via CURL and fsockopen are failing ... with or without proxy.

I would need a proxy though from my host to make it maybe work if that was the problem, correct?

    Possibly, yes. Although it's rare.

You should ask your host why you cannot use CURL or PHP's fsockopen to reach SSL addresses.

    Same problem here

Here are the results of the ipncheck.php

    Code:
    IPNCHECK.PHP - Version 1.0

IPN TESTING - POSTING to PayPal via: ssl://www.paypal.com:443

Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to www.paypal.com:443 in /home/content/l/a/d/ladyren/html/store/ipncheck.php on line 81
IPN FATAL ERROR :: Could not establish fsockopen.
Host Details = ssl://www.paypal.com:443 (110) Connection timed out

    Trying again without SSL ...

IPN TESTING - Confirmation/Validation response: RESPONSE RECEIVED - Communications OKAY

    Script finished.
Can someone help what can be done now?
