Default Error when upgrading to 1.3.8.

I am currently in a process of upgrading from 1.2.6 to 1.3.8

I got prompted to select database upgrade from the install.

When I click on "Upgraded database now", it takes me to a blank page that has this message:

    in:
    [select admin_id, admin_name, admin_pass from admin where admin_name = 'Elnara']

What does it mean and what should I do to fix that?

    Thanks for the help!

I just went through this. I reverted my database to a backup, and did the upgrade again, this time one step at a time. It went OK that way.

How do you go "one step at a time" through a basically one-step process?

Curious, because I have the same problem.

Oh, sorry, you mean one upgrade at a time. That works (with a "but" I'm going to post in a separate thread).

Well, for me, I had to go from 1.2.7 database to 1.3.8 database. In the database upgrade screen, each of the updates between those two has a checkbox. By default, all the ones in the range are selected. I de-selected all but the oldest, did the upgrade, and so on, one at a time, until I was up-to-date. I did get a couple other warnings along the way (to do with config entries I already had in the db) but the message said I could ignore them and I experience no problems.

Idea or Suggestion Re: Error when upgrading to 1.3.8.

How incredibly timely! I'm having exactly the same problem today.

It didn't occur to me to do this. What I did instead was to stare at the stupid message for a while, then click the Back button on my browser, and (seeing that upgrade 1.2.6 to 1.2.7 was unchecked, enter my administrator username and password again, and just do it again. Of course, I had to do this about 10 times... Basically, however, that 's the same solution you used.

I do hope that the ZC team becomes aware of this problem (and the other one posted today dealing with error messages regarding the non-existence of the paypal_testing table) and either improves the instructions to say "here's a workaround" or (better) fixes the problem itself.

Not that I'm complaining, of course
