Default How do I get past the initial paypal login.

How do I get the paypal payment page to show the non-paypal customer form by default.

Currently the customer has to click the continue link to get to it. Some of my customers just don't get that.

    Thanks,

    JP

    Clear your browser's cookies.

PayPal remembers that you've logged in to PayPal (from that browser on that computer) at some point previously, and figures it's doing you a favor by remembering that.

Yep, I've just finished setting up a brand new store in 1.3.8, using PP Web Pmnts Standard. I tested it using the PP account for it by buying things with my own PP account.

PayPal is getting really pushy, if it knows you have a PP account. When I chose to go past the loging in and insisted on paying with a credit card, it completed the transaction, but did NOT return me to the store. Yes, there is a big yellow button sitting there that I can click to return to the store, but...

These are the things the page says when it stops

Patti, thank you for your payment

You just paid without exposing your financial information.
    Receipt ID: 0R
An email with your order summary has been sent to [email protected]
    Merchant Contact Information
    XXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXX

    Go to PayPal Account Overview
BIG YELLOW BUTTON TO RETURN TO STORE

    Then this:
Next Time, Pay With PayPal - Create an Account!
    Never share credit card information.
Review payment status whenever you want.
Securely send and receive money online.

Reset your password to pay with PayPal next time:
Assure privacy for your credit card information
Review your payment status whenever you like
Securely send and receive money online

    New Password:

    ******************
As you can see, they were working really hard to cover all bases to "keep it in the family". By the last part (reset my password, so I can pay with PayPal next time) shows they knew I had an account. I had to go through several screens to get to the credit card fill-in part.

For those of you that are newer to PayPal, you need to understand they make a LOT more money by being able to just transfer money between peoples accounts. They charge the same fee to the business receiving money, whether its a PayPal funded transaction or credit card. (If you have a personal account, you are not charged a receiving fee, but a business account yes). If you pay with a credit card, they have to give up some of those fees they get from the business receiving money.

I've been with them for over 7 years now, and although it's been a very trustworthy way to receive money, and I've never had a problem, this is getting a little pushy for my taste. I don't like it that they're doing this to my customers, so I guess it's time to look around a bit.

About PayPal getting pushy. I have been with them for two years and loved them... and guess what!!! When my bank changed owners and I had to get a new card issued... PayPal won't accept it as areplacement. Seems they have a new policy that you can never change a card from the same vendor. I have only one bank account and one bank card, which is Visa. Now I can't use my new Visa card at all on my PayPal account. They say they'll be glad to accept a non Visa card instead.

    What duh ?????

So, I opened a new account under a new email and guess what??? When i try to add my visa card to the new account, they won't verify but say I must email thier cardproblems dept. and wait for someone to contact me.

Isn't it a little strange, and yeah, time to start looking around.
