In your case you may want the footer to display across the whole page, in which case you would need to have the div ending somewhere just before the right column begins.
Ahh, fantastic thanks. Yes I agree, I'll probably let the header and footer continue across the screen and adjust only the "center text.." I do use some RH boxes at other places on the site, but your suggestion may have me experimenting with moving/removing them...

    Thanks Glenn,

If I recall, google found it even with spaces... I will try the "backwards" approach. I just hate having to PM admins every time I try to trick google and google ends up being smart than me (which is usually, LOL).

You can modify tpl_main_page.php to set $flag_disable_right on the pages where you don't want to use the right column.

    Intersperse it with x's

Can Google be that smart? :)

If you know you are never going to use the right column, you could remove it from the tpl_main_page.php altogether.

Hey guys, thanks so much for that guidance - it took a little playing around with where to put the </div> to avoid sporadic behavior, but it's working great, more or less with only a couple tries. Thanks as always!

Your site looks very nice and clean. I'm not sure why Zen Cart doesn't have a center <div> tag anyways, but implementing one is a good way to learn about the coding.

If you post it, it'll get indexed.
    Please govern yourself accordingly.

Generally being cross-indexed is a good thing, esp from a busy site like Zen Cart.

But if you don't want that, obscure your URL somehow.

Moderating is busy enough alongside writing code, without having to edit peoples' posts.
And, no, editing permissions will not be changed.

Yes, there have been times when I wanted to advise someone to style the whole center column with something, and found there was no IE6-friendly way of addressing it uniquely. #navColumnOne and Two are <td> elements with id's, the center column should be too.

Oh yes, I'll probably never take the time to learn how to write all this stuff from scratch, but being at the point where - with some helpful people pointing in the right direction - I can get things done pretty quickly is nice.

The site will never be done just as the business will never be done, but thanks -it's finally getting to the point I feel pretty good about it.
