I need to mass-reset the passwords, how to?

I need to reset all of my customer's passwords and have them emailed to the addresses on file. How can I go about doing this? I have a few hundred to do so doing it by hand is not exactly a great option.

We went from an in-house use only backend system and have brought our cart online so that customers can log into their accounts now, but we need to reset all the passwords before it'll work.

I wonder if going into phpmyadmin via your hosting backend, and deleting all the passwords.

Then when the customer comes in the won't be able to login and will click on the I forgot my password link.

You can also add a note to you login page informing them that they need to click on the "I forgot my password" link to reset it.

I think you can send a message to everyone from the admin, but I haven't done that yet.

You could export the customer list, then import the addressses to an email list program found in the scripts or fantastico part of your hosting backend.
