    Default paypal express checkout question

I was wondering, but does the Paypal Express Checkout system allow customers to pay with paypal without creating an account on the site? I'm asking because some customers really don't like to create an account on the site.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
You can select that option in admin --> modules --> payment --> paypal express checkout. After installing the paypal module...

I know that. I was asking if it can be used for faster checkout for people who don't want to create account.

    Thanks though.

    And the awnser is yes

And you can change the requirement in your admin:

    Express Checkout: Require Confirmed Address
Do you want to require that your customers use a *confirmed* address when choosing their shipping address in PayPal?

    yes/no

    No in your case.
Or do I not understand your question correctly?

    Just to clarify;

if 'NO' is used then a person can pay by Credit Card and does not need to have a PayPal account.

if 'YES' is used then a person can pay by Credit Card but must have a PayPal account.

    Is that correct?

Also, to my knowledge a PayPal Confirmed address is for Billing, not Shipping.
    Anyone know different?

No, that is not correct. If you select "no", people do not have to have an account on your Zen Cart website. If you choose yes, your customer goes to the paypal checkout page, log in with their PayPal account, choos "pay", and then end up at your Zen Cart site with the alert, that they have to register to your site. not the way to go, I think. Some customers will definiately run away.

I have seen many PayPal checkout pages that have a customized header - to match the cart site.

I recently figured this out and have noticed a boost in conversions.

Some PP checkout pages not only have a custom header - but replace the

    Don't have a PayPal account?
    No problem, continue checkout.

With a bank of Major Credit card Logos directly under the Continue Checkout hyperlink

This is really a PP issue but getting a Tech Support response out of them is like squeezing blood from a stone...

Most of my business is using a CC via the PayPal portal - as a matter of fact the percentage of those actually using a PayPal account to checkout is less than 5%.

I choose to use PP because I pay no monthly fees or setup costs, and I like the pay for service as you go model.

What does PP care if the customer uses a PP account or a Major Credit Card?
They still get a cut - probably some bean counter in the shadows making the prospect think they have to get a PP account.

So - anyone have a hack where I can change the simple text above into a bank of Credit Card Logos?

    Thanks,

    Skratch
