does anyone know how to have customers build their own store on my site?

I have been using zen cart for a while now..... and its great, but im looking for somthing perhaps a add-on? in which users can sign up and then make and custmize there own store..... any ideas?

Zen Cart's structure does not allow this. Customizations take place in the database and the code and since some of them affect all templates (i.e. those in the database), users could easily reset other other peoples settings.

That doesn't mean that it couldn't be done. I have an outline design for that sitting on a dusty shelf. But it would be a HUGE piece of code development and database work.

You could use Zen Cart as a platform for building a site like Bigcartel. You would need to start by making major structural changes to the database, re-writing the Admin using AJAX approaches, and re-designg the template system.
