    Default Changing Server Folder Name

    Hi all

Could anyone tell me how I might be able to change the name of the folder I installed Zen Cart in (host uses cPanel)?

It is a folder in my 'public_html' folder, called 'ZenCart'. I just want to rename it to 'Store'. (my plan is to use Zen Cart as store only, linked to the main non-Zen cart site).

I realise I can't just rename the folder in cPanel (I did try that though). I am hoping I can do this without losing all the configuration changes I have made......

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you install ZenCart manually or use Fantastico via CPanel?

Using a program like FileZilla can change the name of the folder from ZenCart to store.

But after making that change, to keep the store in-tact you will have to edit your "configure.php" files to reflect the change.

In: "../admin/includes/configure.php" you will (should) need to change 7 lines:
    Lines 41 - 44
    Lines 60 & 61
    Line 88

In: "../includes/configure.php" you will need to also change:
    Lines 25 & 26
    Line 41
    Line 66

I am pretty sure those are the only changes needed in those files, but incase I missed a line you will need to change any line where you see the old folder name, you will need to replace with the new folders name. remember after editing these files to reset permissions to 444.

After making the above changes you will be able to point your browser to the new folder and be able to access your store. (If you have any hard coded images you will also have to change the addresses to those images to make them show properly).

Changing folder name, where Fantastico installed, may cause problems
if you attempt a future zencart upgrade, using Fantastico..

I have had the same situation. You can put the current store in maintenance through <configuration> or
place the store in View Only,
    <Configuration> <My Sotre> <Store Status>
then re-install another copy into another folder (Store) and access the original/same SQL data base. Once installed properly, delete the bad (ZenCart) folder.

There will be some files and folders that you can not easily delete that contain '.htaccess' but if you [FTP] to the folder you can change and delete these files.
