Problem with products with attributes stock

I just recently upgraded to version 1.3.8a and I'm having a problem with the Products with attributes stock.

It used to work properly. Like when I had 0 of that color instock and the product was added to my cart, it would show a red line above the cart.

I just tested it, and added a product color that had 0 instock, and it didn't show the red line above the cart.

Does anybody know how I can fix the problem?
