Do I need to have a template before I can install Zen Cart?

Hello Zen Cart community,

I did a bit of searching, couldn't really find a direct answer to my question, so here goes, do I have to have a template in place already before I can install Zen Cart? Does it have to have a CSS? Can I create any old template with Dreamweaver CS3 and use it for my web storefront?

Sorry if some of these questions seem really simple. Couldn't find a direct answer else where and I am new to this all.

ZenCart comes with it's own template, that you can copy and customise yourself. Not advisable to use Dreamweaver..zencart is written in php and stylesheet governs much of template settings.
