Changing homepage title

I'm trying to change the homepage title but i can't get it done.
If searched trough your forums but no solid answer.

I have edit the metatags.php on line 11 & 14 in the english section and in the dutch section. It doesn't affect the index or home page.

All pages are viewed properly except the homepage / index.

It says: HOME_PAGE_TITLE

To find out whe the heck it is.
Do the following:

Admin ---> tools ---> Developers Tool Kit---->
>>> [Enter in the very last box] HOME_PAGE_TITLE
All files to look up : Catalog/Admin ---> Search

Also you should compare original file with yours. It coul be a missing character

However, you need to define coretly these fields in order to be properly index by the robots

I use crimson editor to search files for text. I can never get the Developers Tool Kit to find anything... maybe I am using it incorrectly???

I ran into this. My solution was to replace all the files in the includes/functions/ folder. When I upgraded my shop from 1.37 to 1.38a they did not get upgraded and resulted in the aforementioned error.

It was also mentioned elsewhere that updating your language files will make many similar errors go away. includes/languages/english.php in my case.

Hi,

I don't get it. I am using a clean install of ZC, version 1.3.8a. meta_tags.php has been placed in includes/languages/MYLANGUAGE/MYTEMPLATE. Define ('TITLE', has been, well, defined with the name of my store and I still get the default HOME_PAGE_TITLE in the title bar when I open my site. The other pages show correctly the name of the store so meta_tags.php is being picked up correctly there but the home page still shows the default title. Also I can't see anywhere in meta_tags.php these lines :
<title>HOME_PAGE_TITLE</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<meta name="keywords" content="HOME_PAGE_META_KEYWORDS" />
<meta name="description" content="HOME_PAGE_META_DESCRIPTION" /

This is obviously the problem. Where are they ?

ahh, but I am using a French translation of zc 1.3.7. Is this going to cause problems ?

Shouldn't cause problems, so long as you edit that file in that language.
