Default Questions! Questions! Please Help Someone.

Questions! Questions! I am trying to keep from losing my site and customers and all the work I did on it this pass year. I looked in tools server/verson to find the version this is what it said. Zen Cart 1.3.7 Database Patch Level: 1.3.7
    v1.3.7 [2007-01-30 21:47:04] (Fresh Installation)

would I download the v1.3.7 or v1.3.7.1 - I didn't install the first time my host did it for me that is while I am asking, everytime I send him an e-mail I get this automatic responder that say All customer my be moved by April 1, etc. etc. I don't know which one he installed.

I pointed my website back to the old data base so I could go back and do another backup. after I finish the fresh install do I go to the new data base and select all the tables and do drop, insert and import. or in what order is the steps taken to import my site onto the new server.

This tutorial should help with moving your site:

    https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=100

I think you should get 1.3.7.1, which includes the security patches here:
    http://http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=83781&package_id=171544&release_id=474574

Thanks a lot, but when I tried to do it there was not drop button, and the browse button wastn't accessible, I called Godaddy and the rep said it wasn't suspose to be a drop button. I told him in the tutorial it said and import. I don't know if we go disconnected or if he hung up on me. I didn't call back.

What is giving you problems? Are trying to import to your new host? What kind
of control panel do you have? CPanel?

If you did this in #3 of the tutorial:

    3. On your OLD host, Make a COMPLETE backup of your DATABASE and STORE.
    a. Use either the "Backup MySQL Database" contribution to do the backup of your database, or use phpMyAdmin to export your entire database ... include the "DROP" tables command, and under Data, choose "Complete Inserts" and "Extended Inserts".
Save the SQL file to your PC for later.
    b. Download all your old site's files via FTP (or if you have the option, zip them up on the server and download the zip)
your exported DB backup SQL already has the command to drop the tables.

You seem to have skipped an instruction ... From FAQ: https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=100
    2. Go to your NEW host and upload (FTP) a fresh NEW install using the same version files that you built your other site on.... this will make sure that you get the proper settings in your configure.php files...
While installing, allow it to install the demo products, so that you can test and be sure that it's working nicely.
    a. Install (when asked about the database-table-prefix during Database-Setup, use the same prefix that your old store uses)
You probably have a different DB_PREFIX on your new site vs your old one.
Find out your DB_PREFIX from your old site's configure.php files, and change your new site's configure.php file DB_PREFIX settings to match.
Otherwise you'll keep looking at entirely different data.

When I used local host in the setup I got an error it could find it, I call Godaddy and the rep said to click on the pencil and get the information from there which was: host name: p41mysql----- secureserver.net and what ever the number was it would be a different evertime you setup a data base. I don't have a prefix on my other. If you mean like /shop or /catalog or/store. I used the same data base name same password I also set it up in the in public html folder and wouldn't come up it would say page not found. I call Godaddy again the rep said it had to be install in the root. These are my two configure files on the old site. The site was given to me it was originally in another name and the host transferred it over to me using my website name.

In red, this is the datebase-table-prefix that DrByte mentions. If you didn't specify this in your new install, you have duplicate tables in your datebase...one with the prefix, and one without...therefore your new install is not pointing to imported data.

I clear out every thing and reinstall it before I read this last post.

this time when I run the key I got this message.

    1146 Table 'lakecoun_zc2.configuration' doesn't exist
    in:
[select configuration_key as cfgkey, configuration_value as cfgvalue from configuration]

    what do this mean.
