    Default I Need Help!! Desperate

    I did the dumbest thing EVER. I deleted the entire contents of my store...over 600 products. Is there any way to retrieve deleted files? Does zen cart do backup?

    You have to do backup yourself.

    Exactly what did you delete? The files or the database?

    Do Hosting companies keep a back up? Of course at a cost to restore?

    I did exactly the same thing, and my hosting company restored the database from a 24-hour-old backup. If your host can't / won't do the same, I'd suggest a new hosting company.

    And, of course, do your own regular backups from now on.

    Thank you for your responses. I was trying to delete a product from my shopping cart and I somehow deleted the entire inventory (massive amounts). I am not very technically-inclined so I don't know if that means the database or not? I am hoping/praying that the admin server does do regular backup...and if they restore this, I will most definitely learn to back up myself. I pay a local company to host the site and make some updates and I know they deal with an outside admin server. Do you think that means someone, somewhere is backing up?

    Ok, bad news: it's the database that got deleted.
    However, only part of it got deleted.

    You have to call the support guys, ask if they have a recent copy of the database(like 1 day before) and restore the database for you.
