question about displaying products in columns

Hi all,

I have a client that is using Zen cart for their shop. I didn't install it and I'm not even sure which version it is. In the index.php file I get this:

Anyway, I have a quick question. Is there an easy way to have the products display pages/results to show in columns? Say 3 columns instead of 1? I didn't see anything in the admin for this, but I don't know if I missed it.

If there is no built in way, how much work would it be to custom script a solution? I can script fairly well, but it's always a pain to reverse engineer something.

Any thoughts? Thanks :)

You can check the version by logging into admin.

It should be Admin > Configuration > Product Listing. Near the bottom you should see " Product listing layout style " and " Product listing columns per row ".

May be different in previous versions. If so you may need columnar layout grid http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...products_id=77

Hmm ok. Doesn't say anywhere in admin. Looks like it's been modified - it says ft 11 shopping cart system. Looks like Zen branding has been removed, but still exists in the code. Any other way of knowing the version?

Thanks John - but I didn't see either of those options in the product listing. Must be an older version.

Thanks for the links. If I can sort out which version it is, then perhaps I can use one of those grid mods.

BTW, I dont think whoever did that have the right to remove ZC copy right on admin side.

Yellow, you may be right, I have no idea though. I didn't build the site. I'm just trying to assist a client. My guess is the site owners went to that company (ft 11) and they installed the system and branded it themselves. FT 11 has a website. You can check it out.

well, the server_info.php file didn't help me.

is the info in the database or something? I don't have direct access to it atm.

V1.3.7 still uses the 2006-02-02 copy of index.php, so it is not necessarily that old, and the column grid mod version for ZC 1.3.6 and 1.3.7 is the same.
I don't suppose you can post a link or give a url? Then we could find out.

You can find out just by looking at the live site?

There are various small clues in how the output is coded in view source, and the stylesheet date(s) often help.
I believe a 2006-02-02 date would have to be v1.3.0 at the earliest.

Actually I could look up in the changelog when certain files were changed, and you could check the date on those files (assuming you can look at all the files in the cart).
