    Default Paypal IPN simply not working for me

    Hi,

    So i am having a problem with my paypal IPN. The order can be completed, i get the money from paypal, but when it returns to the order complete page in zencart there is no Order Number displayed, and the order is not created in zencart.

    The problem is that I have no way of knowing what items were ordered.

    I read some recent posts online that people are having problems with paypal IPN in the last weeks?
    Is there actually a problem lately?

    Or maybe something is configured wrong ?
    I'm pretty sure all the settings are correct, though.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Those are classic symptoms of PayPal's server not successfully communicating with your server to complete the release of the order details.

    more details for anyone reading... i enabled debug mode and the following suspicious result arrives:

    IPN NOTICE :: Could not find matched txn_id record in DB. Therefore is new
    to us.

    is this normal??


    also...

    IPN WARNING :: Currency/Amount Mismatch.


    that is the last one recieved.... does it cause a halt?

    Yes, that's normal for a new order.

    If there is a currency mismatch, the order will not be saved due to the potential of it being fraudulent.

    Okay, i got it working.

    the problem was shipping settings enabled in paypal. i didn't know this was an issue until reading in the wiki. it would be good to have this displayed on the module page.
