Default A few misc customization questions

I'm doing pretty good customizing my new install but have a few misc questions:

    1) For pages where the total height of the sideboxes is taller than the content, the bottom sidebox touches the navSupp area at the bottom. How can I add a space above it? It appears that if I edit navSupp in the CSS then that will affect other nav items too.

    2) How to delete the horizontal line at the bottom of the categories menu? I have turned off the "All Products" and "Featured Products" items in the admin side... is this in the admin side too?

    3) Is there a global way to disable all Newsletter references? Or do I have to turn off the checkbox in the customer section then override and edit the Information sidebox? Anything else I need to take out related to newsletters?

3b) Is there an admin way to disable items in the Information sidebox?

    4) What email templates do I need to work on?
    a) The Welcome email
    b) The email sent upon ordering
    And?

    Thanks!

I figured out how to take the link out of the sidebox in the admin interface, as well as out of the Customer sign-in/Account page... anything else I need to take out related to newsletters?

I'm still looking for help on this point:

Add a margin-bottom to #navColumnOneWrapper and #navColumnTwoWrapper in your stylesheet.

The line below categories is in Configuration > Layout Settings > Categories Separator Between Links.

Thanks! The CSS recommendation was spot-on... I had been thinking about space on top of the footer but that solution is just right.

Thanks for the other pointer... I saw the separator stuff in there but missed the "Status" setting.
