Coupon Percentage Flawed?

I setup a 10% coupon called WINTER SALE at my site at www.gelcandlecompany.com

When this WINTER SALE coupon is being used on a $9.99 special which is located here:
http://gelcandlecompany.com/index.ph...9042eb8d2e47f4

It shows a discount of $1.06.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 10% of $9.99, $1.00?

When using the WINTER SALE coupon on a NON special item such as this one:
http://gelcandlecompany.com/index.ph...index&cPath=43

It shows a proper discount of $1.00

Why is this.

What settings do you have for the coupon regarding shipping and taxes?

Tax Basis: Shipping 6.5% Florida state & county tax

Coupon amount is 10%

There are settings under Modules -> Order Total.

I'm still trying to figure them out myself, which is how I found your post. In my situation, the coupon discount is correct, but the tax is not recalculating correctly...

Is your 9.99 sale price set up through Specials or Sale Maker? There are setting under Sale Maker about ignoring or respecting other discounts...

Your were right!
I had Specials.

I changed the "Include Tax" to "false"
in the Modules-Order Totals under Discount Coupons.

it seemed to be recalculating using some other percentage than my tax rate. I changed it to:

per another post, and now it seems to work.

I am having these same issues. Here is what I found that I needed to do...

When using a flat discount (i.e. $5.00 off):
- change the Re-calculate Tax to Credit Note

When using a percentage discount (i.e. 10% off):
- change the Re-calculate Tax to Standard

I used to use the flat rate and had to set this setting to credit note. Then I switched to percentage and had to switch back to standard. The issue that I was seeing was that the addition of all of the amounts (sub total, discount, tax) did not add up to the total. Hopefully someone has a real fix to this issue in a future release.
