Default Firebug with Mozilla is great, but...

...when looking at the html code and easily finding it on the editor, I have found it extremely difficult to locate the precise .php file to modify for a permanent fix. The stylesheets are easy enough, as they are titled, but not the html code on the other files.

Question: Is there a simple way to identify the source file so I don't have to open and close all the files to see if that is what I am looking at? I have used the Developers Tool Kit in the tools section of admin, but with only marginal success at best.

This is so frustrating. Sort of a like a carrot (I prefer jelly beans) being dangled in front of my face and I can't get to it.

    Thanks in advance.

It's there in the tutorial. Inspect the element, then search for that special string/id/class using Admin->tools->developer toolkit
I no longer provide installation support on forum for all my modules. However, if there are real bugs with the modules please feel free to contact me

And try small snippets of text... often strings (even class or id names) are built piecemeal in the PHP, so the whole string doesn't exist in any file.

Is there a particular page that is giving you the most trouble?

For the most part there is a method to the madness and you should be able to locate things based on the name of the page or the section of the page.
