It can be done, but you will have to code it yourself. Fortunately, this very situation is used as an example in the wiki. See Another Real World Example.
It is possible that someone has made a mod for this as well, though I don't see one in Downloads.

There's an easier way if your customers are pretty much going to only buy one and get one free -- not B3G3F, B15G15F, etc. Just set a maximum quantity of 2 and use the quantity discount option, setting the price for 2 at half the price for 1.
Or, if they are going to buy more than 1, at quantity 2 and up set a 50% discount. It won't be labelled B1G1F but that's what it will be.

Mmm... Very good idea! It would work perfectly for quantities of the same item.
Has there been a mod made for the b1g1f yet? I haven't seen one and thought that maybe I had missed it. :)
