Default Database check in PHPMyAdmin shows errors

I was looking in PHPMyAdmin, I ran the database check function, and got a big list of advisories like this in both my sandbox and production stores:

    corek2_zc135.admin
error : Table upgrade required. Please do "REPAIR TABLE `admin`" to fix it!

I ran the update on my sandbox, and all seems well, but since I don't know what it did, I hesitate to run it on my production site.

Safe to run? Advisable to do so? What does it do?

I've been running this site for almost 3 years, been upgrading along the way.

I'm sure my web host has done some upgrades in the version of MySQL.

Pretty safe to run this PHPMySQL repair thing? (of course I will backup before!)

... version 5.0.45-community now, but I'm sure it didn't start with that.

:) Back up and then run the table repair - Might keep an eye out and let us know if you run into any further oddities.

Database repair ran without error, and it looks like the website loads faster, too!

(I went ahead did this for all my web apps, they all reported need for repair!)

    thanks Kim!
