    Default add status update

    When I add a comment, change the status and check the notify customer box, zen cart is updating the status but putting a red X next to the notify customer box and not sending the email.

    Anyone know the correct configuration setting for notify customer.

    By default, with no addons installed, Zen Cart will send an email and put a green check mark in that "notify customer" column if you've checked the "notify customer" box (checked by default) when updating an order status.

    Perhaps one of your addons has broken that normal operation?

    It is unchecked as default now, so an add-on must have changed something... And even when I check it and click update it comes up with a red X. Super Orders maybe...

    I will poke around and see what I can find.

    I have this problem too. But my notify customer box is checked all the time by default. Any ideas?

    Note that if you're using Super Orders, you need to download the latest copy (and there's still one case that doesn't work I think- Frank hasn't uploaded all my fixes yet).

    thanks swguy. after doc's reply, i posted the problem/question to the super orders thread but no response yet. hopefully there is a fix for this glitch.

    Unfortunately, I do not have the add on Super Orders. The only add ons I have are Google analytics and crosssell. This was happening before I had installed google though.

    Hi everyone,

    Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I'm having the same problem after installing Super Orders on 1.3.8a recently.

    The "notify" box is unchecked by default which is what I want, but when I check it, add comments and update, I get the red X and *I* get an email, but the customer doesn't.

    I hope someone has figured out what to do about this

    Attached is the fix. Unzip and replace admin/super_orders.php with this one. I have asked Frank (the mod's keeper) to update the official zip in the downloads area.
