Default How do you securely connect to Internet Database From Office?

    Hello,

I want to connect to my stores internet database from my office. I have done this in the past but I really really want to be very careful about this.

    I have used Connector/ODBC 3.51 from MySQL http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html

to connect in the past but I don't see any documentation to read on it. The problem is I want to connect securely (SSL) to the database so that someone with a network sniffer cannot grab my user id and password and my customers information.

Can someone give me some direction? When the driver asks for a server should I place my https:// address there? How can I know I am secure?

    Thank you!

IIRC, ODBC doesn't give you the option of security.

Try something like SQLyog (webyog.com), which lets you use an HTTPS URL to 'tunnel' into your server and access the database, or even use an SSH connection for same, if your hosting account lets you use SSH.
