    Default URL problems

    Greetings

    I decided to reinstall my cart and I set up the new install in a subdirectory as follows:

    www.myrootfolder.com/mynewsite.

    All seems well and I finally decide to roll this out. The permanent url is now

    www.mynewsite.com.

    Note: files for mynewsite.com are located at www.myrootfolder.com/mynewsite.

    However, on accessing the site successfully, all the links point to www.myrootfolder.com/mynewsite/filename.php etc.... This works out okay but my site visitors no longer see

    www.mynewsite.com

    but now see

    www.myrootfolder.com/mynewsite.

    The folder has not changed just the URL. I have made changes to the settings in the 2 configure.php files to point to the new url... but need help in loosing the www.myrootfolder.com/mynewsite.

    cache settings are database.

    thanks for your help

    Move all the files to the root of your site and out of the folder

    By root, do you meean move all the files to this folder / level - www.myrootfolder.com? I am reserving this level for other use.

    thanks

    Problem resolved. Thanks all for your suggestions which had me look closer

    Hope this helps someone else.....

    2 things I did to resolve:

    1. Verified my changes to the configure files were being saved. Ended up deleting server originals, re-uploading and changing permissions to read-only

    2. removed the "/store" in path in lines below where found in both configure files

    define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/store/admin/');
    define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/store/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/store/admin/');
    define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/store/');

    Also verified the new url was saved

    define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.mynewsite.com');
    define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.mynewsite.com');

    best wishes in your zen journey
