Multiple Vendors?

I'm creating a kind of 'online secondhand store' for a trio and was wondering:

What would be the best way to identify which items sold belong to which person? I want to be able to show them how to generate a report each month so they can see what got sold and who was the person that put it there, EXCEPT that I don't want something like "ITEM LISTED BY <NAME>" in the item description.

Would it be best to have each of them set as a manufacturer or maybe give their items a common 'model' number? I was thinking giving them their own 'product type' but the more I look at that the more it might not be such a good idea.
