Can you edit alongside existing website

Hi everyone!

I am a bit of a novice at website design. I have an online clothes business that is operating on paypal only at the moment. The business has grown to a point where I need a more sophisticated shopping cart. I have been advised to use Zen - however I am a bit confused about whether I can upload and edit zen template etc whilst still operating the existing website until ready to change over.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You can install Zen Cart in a subfolder of your site (like /public_html/shop/) and get it set up and customized, and then move it to the root (/public_html/) when you are ready to go live with the new version. There is plenty of information on this in the FAQ/tutorials.

Buy the Book by Goh Koon Hoek, it is an excellent place for a novice to start. You can also view the videos I created on Installing Zen Cart on your local machine.
