Default Plugging Zencart into an existing website

I'm trying to plug Zencart into an existing website in an iframe.

This is all fine and dandy until someone hits the reload page button, then where back on the home page of the store.

So I thought I'd modify the template tpl_main_page.php onLoad button to modify the parent to capture the actual current zencart url. This isn't totally thought through. I'd hate to use a cookie to keep track of the url, but without reloading twice, once for the new zencart url and one for the new website url containing the zencart url.

On the first Load, I'm able to view an alert of the paren'ts iframe src value.

But, once I click any link in the store, I get access denied.

Does anyone know why accessing any url in the cart other than http://www.yoursite.com/store would give this?

For a bunch of reaso Zen Cart does not function in a frame(ugg!!)

Zen Cart is meant to be your web site...it can be in a dir and you can have your landing page at the site root but not in a frame

Well it seems like it should be feasible. It totally working in an iframe except the reload button.

So, I should open zencart in a seperate window? That's not the worst idea for my client who has already done his own website and wants to maintain it seperately. But, what if users have pop-ups disabled? I have to have them disable that?

If you search the Forum for 'easy embed' you'll find some threads about it and a download link.

It is a template system that allows one to use their existing Web design and incorporate Zen Cart wherever they want. Takes a bit of thinking to get it working right but once you do, the rest is a breeze.

I've got it working. I had to do some tricky database stuff to avoid cookies and frame resizing stuff to make the store works with reloading, etc. In the future, I may do a straight ZenCart, but in this case the customer wanted his own website in tact, so ... I aim to please.

If using Zen Cart in a frame you had better test what ever payment methods you intend on using as most will not work

For the last this one, paypal and money orders work fine.

For the current one, I'm working on getting Quick Books Merchant Service working.

That's kinda weird. There must be some kind of work around on that. I'll see if I can't figure it out.

I'll see if my next client wants a straight store.

    Website Rob,

That sounds like a good idea, but I'm having difficulty deciphering that post.

Can you take a look at my post there and see if you can add some insight.

    Thanks.
