    Default Incorrect tax calculations

    Ive read a number of posts on here, but nothing that helps

    I have my store setup to 2 decimal places and a tax rate setup at 17.50%

    When it comes to adding the products the total including the 17.50% differs from my calculation and spreadsheet.

    Ive tried this increasing the amount of decimal places and it still differes

    Anyone know what's causing this, i dont want to be quoting the wrong VAT to people

    Ta

    you need to set both taxes as priority 0 so that one tax doesn't tax the other.

    what I mean by priority is the sort order

    I had seen that tutorial and checked that my setup and its all seems ok, it pretty much matches the the guide

    i think i may have sussed it,

    it may be down to the prices ive been supplied for example one of the products is £46.90 (inclusive of VAT) and ive just figured out you cant get £46.90 using just two decimal places, it needs four decimal places just to get that figure.

    So im going to revises his pre tax prices and round them of to 2 decimal places, ive just done a test on a number of products and all seems fine.

    thanks for you help

    I am using Zen Cart Version 1.3.8a. I use the Cherry Zen template and have the USPS, UPS and Shipping Insurance modules.

    My sales tax for State of Michigan is charging twice at checkout. Rather than 6% it's charging 12%. I have searched these forums for hours and searched on Google for an answer and can find nothing. Following the tutorial guidelines here are the answers to the pertinent questions:

    Troubleshooting tax issues includes the following ...
    1. What are your store settings for these set to?
    Admin->Configuration->My Store
    a. Country/Zone United States/Michigan
    b. Basis of Product Tax Store
    c. Basis of Shipping Tax Store
    d. Display Prices With Tax false
    e. Display Prices With Tax-Admin false

    2. What Zone Definitions have you created?
    Admin->Locations/Taxes->Zones Definitions "Michigan Sales Tax"

    3. Inside each of those zone definitions, what country/zone combinations have been selected?
    Admin->Locations/Taxes->Zones Definitions, click on "Details" button for each zone Michigan (only)

    4. What tax classes do you have?
    Admin->Locations/Taxes->Tax Classes "Taxable Goods" (only)

    5. What tax rates have you created?
    Admin->Locations/Taxes->Tax Rates "Michigan 6%"

    6. What tax class have you associated with your products?
    Admin->Catalog->Categories/Products->click on a product to edit it "Taxable Goods"

    7. What tax class have you associated with each of your shipping modules?
    Admin->Modules->Shipping "None"

    I hope this helps in finding an answer!
    Thanks!

    I got tired of waiting for an answer so I deleted the Michigan sales tax rate of 6%, saved it, then went in and edited it to add the 6% back in and it's working. Who knows why or how, it just is...for now...that's all that matters.

    I have come to find that there is no rhyme or reason for many of the things that happen or the fixes in zen cart...maybe that's why answers are hard to find!
    Thanks!
