Default Shipping First Class or Priority

I'm trying to setup a Zen Cart for a client. For shipping they want to charge one price for 1-2 items, another for 3-5, etc. But then they also want to offer priority shipping, so there's another set of costs.

So the shipping costs look like this:
    1-2 items: 2.95 First Class/ 6.95 Priority
    3-5 items: 3.95 First Class/ 6.95 Priority
6-10 items: First Class not available/ 6.95 Priority

I found the "tables" where I could input something like 2:2.95,5:3.95,10:6.95

But, how can I offer the first class & priority methods???

    Thanks,
    Sandy

You would want to clone the Table Rate table shipping module ...

Do consider if you are charging everyone the same rate or do you need a set of rates for different Zones ... in which case you would want to use Zone Rates zones shipping module and clone that one ...

    Hello Linda and Sandy,

I'm glad to find this thread.

I want to do the same thing :

I use USPS shipping method and want to have :
    - For 1 or 2 items, I offer Flat rate (in Priority - for all zones)
    - For over 3 items, I offer Parcel Post.

Is it possible to do that ?

    Thanks,
    Sabrina

One more question about the table rate...

We are offering first class shipping on up to 5 items, but for 6-10 items only Priority shipping will be available. More than 11, the customer needs to contact the store. Right now for the first class module I have:

    2:2.95,5:3.95

    And the Priority...

    2:6.95,5:6.95,10:6.95

If the customer has 6 items, the first class shipping rate shows up as $0.00. And if the customer has 11 items, both shipping shows up as $0.00.

How can I make the first class not available for 6+ items, and I guess a note saying they need to contact the store for 11+ items???

    Thanks,
    Sandy

What shipping module are you using for this?

On the prices going to 0.00, if there is not a definition, then 0.00 is the charge ...

If you end the definition in 10000:6.95 then no matter how many beyond your settings will go to 6.95 ...

    That handles 11, 12, 25, 1000 ...

If that is not what you mean, then you need a new definition ...

One making definitions appear and disappear based on number of items, you need to give a bit more information on what module(s) you are using to manage your shipping ...
