    The same happens when I click on Gift Certificate/Coupon---->Mail Gift Certificate,

    the above page does not open but does open a few times, even after it load it shows the same "2006 Mysql gone away error"

    Apart from these 2 pages, everything appears fine,

    Well finally I managed to get the solution,

    I removed the drop down menu which listed all customers from the super batch form and super batch update,

    I did the same for the Mail Gift Certificate page, I removed the menu which had all the customer email on the drop down,


    not only did the pages load smoothly and fully, but they were 100% faster in loading,

    The number of customers and email address was huge , so had a problem with loading all of them, the sever gave up .

    By removing this field the page managed to load.

    i'm sorry, my server did not give up, my ISP connection gave up

    Most likely if you peek in your temp directory for your browser there is a file that is massively huge ...

    The files created by large dropdowns can be amazingly huge and the information just cannot get to you before either php dies or you do ...
