    Default re-install - help!

ok, here's what's happened. i had installed zencart successfully; however when i tried to change the style & layout of my template i stupidly overwrote files that i shouldn't have, and essentially wrecked my shop. i decided the best thing to do was delete the zencart files from my server, & start all over again from the beginning. i downloaded a fresh copy of zencart and uploaded it to my server. now, though, i can't get past the database setup screen in the install process - i keep getting a http 500 error message. can anyone help?

    thanks

500 errors are internal server errors and you will need to go into your hosting account C-Panel to look at the server log. It could be a minor misconfiguration, but as the 500 error covers a very broad range of possibilities, it is impossible to pin this down until you've checked the error log.

You may need to contact your host.

Do you have a C-PANEL type interface on your server hosting account?

If you do, there's probably an ICON on the main C-Panel screen that says "Error Log".

If you don't have a C-Panel management facility, then your host will have to look at the log and tell you what's happening.

You may also be able to see the log files using FTP, but this will depend on whether your host allows you access to these directories.
