    Default background picture or not..?

    Hi again..

If I wanted to add some kind of swirly bit sticking out from underneath the main area.. Would I make the background into a .jpg then?? If so, what about screen solution as of course I want the swirls to be at the same area no matter what solution you use..?
Or maybe there's an other way?

You might put the swirly bit as a background-image in #mainWrapper, positioned as you want, with padding on the appropriate side(s) of #mainWrapper to push back the content and reveal the bg.

Can't be more specific without more detail on exactly what you want and where.

I just shuffled a little something together to illustrate..

And maybe even something in this range if I choose to go completely crazy.. LOL

What size must my pictures be to fit? and how many dpi's?

For the lace borders, you could use #mainWrapper to hold the left edge and add a #mainWrapperR div to tpl_main_page.php just inside #mainWrapper to hold the right edge.

If your page is fixed width, you could also use one wide bg image with lace on the edges and blank in the middle, applied to #mainWrapper.

The swirls can be a bg for the body, positioned at the top center. One thing to consider there is that there are many screen sizes, and what looks great on your screen may be cut off or too small in another.

For web display, always use 72dpi.
